Application of PVDF-Coated Fabric Grinding and Welding in the Environmental Protection Sector

The applications of PVDF membrane materials—involving processes such as coating, sanding, and welding—in the environmental protection sector are primarily found in wastewater treatment, air purification, and landfill seepage control, as detailed below:

I. Wastewater Treatment

1. Filtration Membrane Applications: Due to characteristics such as high flux, high selectivity, and ease of cleaning, PVDF membranes are widely used in wastewater treatment. In treatment processes, they are frequently employed for pretreatment to remove impurities such as macromolecules, bacteria, and sediment. PVDF offers superior chemical stability compared to polyethersulfone (PES) materials, particularly regarding resistance to cleaning with oxidizing agents—a key method for addressing organic fouling in ultrafiltration membranes. Consequently, PVDF ultrafiltration membranes are more durable and maintain more stable long-term flux.
2. Hollow Fiber Membrane Applications: PVDF hollow fiber membranes are also widely used in areas such as drinking water treatment, the treatment of wastewater from printing and dyeing, food processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, as well as in wastewater reclamation.

II. Air Purification

1. Filter Membrane Production: Filter membranes made from PVDF can be used for air purification, effectively removing harmful substances from the air.

III. Landfill Seepage Control

1. Impermeable Membrane Applications: PVDF membrane materials can also be used to manufacture impermeable liners for landfills, preventing environmental pollution caused by landfill leachate.
