What are the types of membrane material of inflatable pool

Types of Membrane Materials for Inflatable Pools
Inflatable pools utilize various membrane materials, with common types including:

1. PVC Membrane
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is one of the most widely used materials for inflatable pools. It features low cost, flexibility, high strength, and excellent foldability and crease resistance. PVC membranes can be processed with printing, spraying, and other techniques, enhancing their visual appeal. Widely used in temporary inflatable pools and children’s swimming pools.

2. Eco-Friendly PVC Membrane
Compared to standard PVC, eco-friendly PVC reduces environmental pollution during production and eliminates harmful chemicals. It offers superior softness and comfort but comes with a higher manufacturing cost, making it slightly more expensive. Ideal for environmentally conscious applications such as residential pools and water parks.

3. TPU Membrane
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is an elastic material known for high strength, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, and weather resistance. These properties ensure exceptional durability and stability for inflatable pools. However, TPU’s higher production cost makes it pricier. Best suited for outdoor applications like camping or wilderness expeditions.

4. PVC-Coated Polyester Mesh Fabric
This composite material combines a PVC coating with a polyester mesh base, providing waterproofing, abrasion resistance, and tear resistance. It is cost-effective and easy to process and install. Commonly used in inflatable pools, framed pools, and water park equipment.

5. PTFE Membrane
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) membranes consist of a PTFE coating over a glass fiber base, offering high strength, stiffness, self-cleaning properties, aging resistance, and fire retardancy. However, PTFE cannot be folded, requires precision cutting, and is extremely expensive. Primarily used in permanent structures like stadiums or exhibition halls for large-scale inflatable roofs or walls.
